Hello,
We have two big announcements today.
Membership survey
It’s been five years since our last membership survey. In that time, we’ve grown and changed a lot. The survey is how we assemble concrete data on who and what we are. It’s important for us as a Fellowship as we strive to carry the message, and it’s also important in helping others to understand who and what we are. The membership survey offers concrete data to researchers and other professionals about who we reach, how long we stay clean, and who is in our meetings. That information helps them to understand what we know from our experience: NA works!
Since our first membership survey in 1996, the number of members responding has grown each time we do a membership survey. But this year we are behind schedule in responses, and that is concerning: We know our membership has continued to grow, despite all the challenges we have faced in the last five years, but the survey isn’t reflecting that.
Clearly it’s a communications challenge, and we’re asking you, dear reader, to help. Please fill out the survey and share it in your community. Tell your friends. Tell your group. It’s time to weigh in, time to stand up and be counted. You matter, your voice and experience matter, and we want to know.
The membership survey is online through January on this page.
Interim WSC
The Interim WSC 2025 will be held online 28 February and 1 March 2025. As with the 2022 Interim World Service Conference, a Mixlr link will be posted on the conference page for interested members to listen. The Interim WSC Report is available now at the top of the conference page.
Sponsorship Day
Have you called your sponsor today? 1 December is Sponsorship Day. You can send a medallion or e-card (Send Some Love on the contributions page) or order some of that fabulous WCNA swag for your sponsor or sponsees.
Happy holidays to those of you who celebrate!
Gratefully,
World Board
Hello,
It’s a holiday week for some of you, and we’d like to suggest spending some of that spare time filling out some surveys! Seriously, as we emailed last week, we really need your help filling out the Membership Survey and encouraging others to do so. We’ve posted two other new surveys described below. You can find them all on our survey page.
WCNA Survey
More than 18,000 members, including newcomers, registered for WCNA 38. It was so great! There were a few hitches here and there, but overall reports indicate that people had a wonderful time. We want to remember the good parts and learn from the rest.
With WCNA 38 behind us, it’s time for the World Board to look toward the future of the World Convention. Rising costs on nearly every front in every part of the world push us to consider what is possible, practical, and prudent going forward. We would like to get more perspective from the Fellowship. So—there’s a survey! Whether or not you attended, we have questions, and we want to know more about your experience and your decisions before we start planning the next WCNA.
WCNA Merch!
Following from that, there’s a great sale on WCNA merchandise! All kinds of cool stuff is available at bargain prices. Get it while it lasts at wcnashop.com. If you buy three items, you’ll receive the lowest price item for free (except for medallions, pins, and microfiber cloths, which have their own separate discounts).
Virtual Service Basics Outline and Survey
We’ve been working on resources for virtual services, including virtual service meetings, online meetings and areas participating in the service system, virtual workshops and trainings, etc. The first step we are taking is to develop Virtual Service Basics. We urge anyone with experience or interest to check out the draft outline and fill out the input form, both of which are on the Local Service Toolbox project page.
Contribute
Many of you are already signed up for recurring contributions or contribute regularly, and we thank you! Voluntary direct contributions take the pressure off literature sales to keep our Fellowship alive and free, and allow us to plan more reliably for the future.
Did you know that you can contribute via our webpage or you can text to give? Text “Share” to 801801.
Your time and talent, your voice and vision—and your financial contributions—are all part of making NA available to the addict who still suffers, in your neighborhood and around the world. Thank you so much!
Gratefully,
World Board
